Engaged!

This afternoon, Dave and I walked over to Navy Pier and went for a ride on the Ferris wheel.  As we were heading toward the top of the 150 foot-high Ferris wheel, Dave got down on one knee in the tiny car and asked me to marry him…and I said YES!  We spent the rest of the night playing mini golf, riding on the swings, and going back on the Ferris wheel.  It was a perfect evening!  Click here to see pictures  from our time at Navy Pier:   Pictures

Hawaii

This year our family vacation was to Kauai.  We rented a house and enjoyed relaxing and exploring the island.  Highlights included eight-hour hikes to waterfalls, a helicopter ride, and playing cards in a room with a view of the ocean.   

Abby and Kate in Naperville

Kate and Abby were in Naperville for a week while Melissa was taking her medial board exams.  We had lots of fun with trips to the waterpark, making bubbles, playing in the sprinkler, and going to the park.  Pictures

White Sox Game

My grandma and Dave’s grandpa are both devoted White Sox fans, so we took them to watch a game at Cellular Field.

Aerial Silks

I was asked to perform an aerial silks act for a show at Aloft Loft.  It was a lot of work, but it was so much fun to have friends and family there to cheer me on and see my tricks in person.  I think that the last time I performed in front of a large crowd was high school gymnastics...and that was a long time ago!

Miami

At the end of April, I traveled to Miami with Dave and his grandpa to watch a couple Cubs games.  Some of the other highlights of the trip included holding a baby alligator and going on an airboat ride in the Everglades.    Pictures:  Day 1   Day 2
